Contract signed for 2,000 heavy trucks to be exported to Ethiopia

On Jan. 17, a delegation of Ethiopia Government paid a visit to SINOTRUK. Mr. Wei Zhihai, Vice President of SINOTRUK (Hong Kong) Limited met with the delegation headed by Kevede Teshome.

Wei Zhihai briefed to the delegation the development and products of SINOTRUK. He said that SINOTRUK’s product quality has been improved continuously by sticking to the strategy of keeping the technology ahead and products are acknowledged by more and more African Customers. SINOTRUK has been keeping a good cooperation relationship with Ethiopia.  Projects recently executed by SINOTRUK and Ethiopia will push the cooperation between the two sides onto a new stage. SINOTRUK will provide with good service at the time of providing with good-quality products and make contribution to economic construction of Ethiopia.

Kebede Teshome, the leader of the delegation said, “we have talked with SINOTRUK for a large project for our construction.  We have conducted a wide survey before signing the contract;  we are quite satisfied with the survey on SINOTRUK which is the best truck supplier.  The cooperation will be beneficial to both SINOTRUK and Ethiopia. I wish SINOTRUK obtain more orders in the future.

The delegation inspected samples trucks while visiting Sinotruk Jinan Truck Co., Ltd., Jinan Axle and Transmission Co., Ltd. and Jinan Zhangqiu Industrial Park.

On Jan. 4, the contract for 2,000 heavy trucks to be exported to Ethiopia was signed in Addis Abeba which is the largest order from this country so far. CGC Overseas Construction Co. Ltd, Sinotruk’s general agent in Ethiopia, signed the contract with Ethiopia Engineering & and Municipal Construction Ministry. Karsu, minister of the ministry, Al Karbe, minister of State Affairs and Lin Lin, Chinese ambassador to Ethiopia attended the signing ceremony.

The 2,000 trucks to be exported from Sinotruk to Ethiopia are all of HOWO brand, of which are 1,000 tippers with 18t payload and 1,000 container trailer tractors with 40t payload.  The shipment of first 300 trucks will start in mid-February, 2008 and they will arrive at Ethiopia in March.  Both CNHTC and CGC Overseas Construction Co. Ltd pay much attention to the aftermarket service. Now a set of aftermarket service system including personal training, parts supply and maintenance has been initially established.
